A youth hockey game in Rhode Island turned into a scene of terror when a reported family dispute escalated inside a crowded arena. Witnesses say a father opened fire on his wife and three children in the seating area, sending players, parents, and spectators scrambling for cover.

A livestream intended to share a high school hockey team’s senior tournament for loved ones who couldn’t attend wound up capturing the terrifying moment a gunman opened fire at the match — sending players and spectators fleeing for their lives.

A shooter opened fire inside Lynch Arena in Pawtucket, Rhode Island around 2:30 p.m., killing two and injuring three others in what police are investigating as a “family dispute.”

Authorities believe the gunman took his own life, but haven’t confirmed anything, including the victims’ possible relationships, though they said he appeared to be targeting members of his own family.

He was found dead inside the arena near one of the fatal victims.

The game between two co-op teams was in full force when approximately 11 gunshots rang out, according to the harrowing livestream footage.
